Special requirements for materials for the land based turbines industry include:

• Corrosion resistance in different ambient conditions (gas, water, steam)
• Mechanical strength and toughness at low temperatures (below -100°C) up to temperatures of 650°C
• Creep resistance and thermal stability with operating times of up to 100,000 h (approx. 30 years)
