Plastic mould steels - Heat treatable corrosion resistant steels
These hardened and tempered, corrosion-resistant steels contain approx. 13 to 17 % Chromium as well as additions of Molybdenum and Nickel and achieve high yield strengths combined with good toughness. Such steels are usually supplied in the as heat-treated condition to approx. 30 to 42 HRC. Omission of further heat treatments improves cost-effectiveness and logistics in toolmaking.
